About

đź‘‹ I am Nuno Costa, a PhD candidate at the Technical University of Munich, investigating machine learning for material discovery and molecular dynamics.

I began my studies at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, completing both a BSc and MSc in Informatics and Computing Engineering. During my master’s thesis, I developed physics‑informed neural network surrogates for space weather forecasting.

Between 2024 and 2025, I gained industry experience as a Data Scientist at Prima Assicurazioni in Barcelona. I worked on price‑optimization modelling for insurance renewals and explored causal inference methods for customer price sensitivity. Before that, I have also served as a full‑stack development intern and as a teaching assistant in several bachelor-level courses.

You can explore some of my projects and code on GitHub.
